Sheehan to protest at U.S. posts in Germany in March

By Steve Mraz, Stars and StripesEuropean edition, Thursday, February 23, 2006

RAMSTEIN, Germany - Cindy Sheehan, mother of a soldier killed in Iraq and the woman who protested the war last summer outside President Bush's Texas ranch, is scheduled to bring her anti-war message to U.S. military installations in Germany next month. "We've already heard that Cindy Sheehan is like Hanoi Jane [Fonda] coming here," said Elsa Rassbach, an event organizer with
American Voices Abroad, which is supporting Sheehan's trip. But, she said, "We're here to just democratically talk about U.S. policy."

"Some press and some opponents say that Cindy is coming as their enemy,"Rassbach said. "Our message is 'support our soldiers, bring them home, take care of them.'" "That's what we're about."

Oh really? In the immortal words of Col. Sherman Potter, 'Horse Hockey.' What you're about, Comrade Sheehan, is anti-American, bolshevist propaganda which constitutes treason as defined in Article III, Section III Clause 1 of the Constitution: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Screw due process. I know she has not spoken yet. But if she puts on the same show for the German Greenies she has entertained us with in the US, then treason is the order of the day since her act will be performed on foregin soil. Now in order for this to fit the letter and intent of the treason clause, there will have to be at least two witnesses. If she stands in front of Ramstein AFB, then anyone from the 86th Airlift Wing, 435th Air Base Wing, and the 38th Combat Support Wing or any of our allies, namely Canadian, German, British, French, Belgian, Polish, Czech, Norwegian, Danish, and Dutch forces who are there can act as witnesses.

String Her Up!

Comments:
"Screw due process." Very American of you.

Why do conservatives always yell loudly about free speech when they agree with it, but the second they don't, they yell treason even louder? That's the definition of hypocrisy. We need look no further than only a few weeks ago with the cartoon controversy. Conservatives insisted that it was free speech on the part of the newspapers who printed the cartoons, but now that someone is protesting something you agree with, they're the enemy.

"Free speech" is not selective, you don't get to pick what's free and what's not. And saying that we should not be in a war that is destroying our economy, killing our soldiers for no reason, alienating our former allies, and spreading even more anti-Americanism in the Middle East is certainly not giving our enemies "aid and comfort". It is only speaking logically and freely as Americans are allowed to do. Foreign soil has nothing to do with it, unless you're somehow implying that the Germans are our enemies.

Now telling al Qaeda to go ahead and bomb San Francisco, ala Bill O'Reilly, that's treasonous. Or if you want to get really technical about it, the Iraq War is the best thing possible for Al Qaeda recruitment. That's LITERALLY providing aid to our enemy.

You finally made an argument. Good for you. You're absolutley wrong about the limits of speech. There are limits to speech - nothing more needs to be said about that. Tossing out the due process is the Jacksonian side of me coming out since I have had it with people bashing the US outside the US. Of course Commie Sheehan has a right to due process. I hope she gets a fair trial, found guilty and then hanged. The fact she can speak out against our nation is her right. If she does this in another country, besides being illegal, is very un-American. I hope she stays in Europe. Certainly, the EU is more enlightened than we are in the states and there are more Sheehanistas over there than there are here.

I hope she makes the best speech possible, especially if she uses the one I saw her make where she dropped the f-bomb while calling the President a terrorist. That's real patriotic of her.

It's a shame Andy Jackson is not around. Although there are some really great trees I know he could find for Comrade Sheehan.

Nice try, Bradley.

Amen Brother!

Her son's patriotism and death aside, she's a waste of skin. Her loony antics would be comical if they weren't so anti-American. She's obviously lost her mind. It's actually pretty sad. Perhaps the loss of her son destroyed her ability to think rationally. When dogs go mad and start attacking their family, they get put down. It should be the same with traitors like her. Brad's drivel is actually pretty comical, although childish.
