Fatwa, Fatwa, Don't Cha Wanna Fatwa, Fatwa!
Just when you thought CBS could not be any more stupid, it proves to us all that everyone at CBS who ran the Fatwa story should be before Congress explaining why it continues to give aid and comfort to the enemy. Just like the recent unpleasantenss with the Bush 'NatGuard-Gate Memo's' which caused Dirty Dan and several others to check out of the net, this latest round is just as bad. Whomever was using the 'Go-Story' braincell at CBS certainly screwed the pooch by running the latest Fatwa issued by the Fiqh Council of North America. In it, the Fatwa denounces in the strongest possible language they can muster, that the terror attacks around the world, and London in particular, were horrible, by saying, "There is no justification in Islam for extremism or terrorism." "Targeting civilians' life and property through suicide bombings or any other method of attack is haram or forbidden." Camel Pucks! This is the group whose leaders put out a similar Fatwa stating this: "Jihad is the only way to liberate Palestine; that no person or authority may settle the Jews on the land of Palestine or cede to them any part thereof, or recognize any right therein for them." Muzamil Siddiqi, head of the Fiqh Council, is quoted in an interview regarding the latest as saying 'suicide bombing is forbidden in Islam. This is not the solution, it is not the right way of doing things. Occupation is wrong, of course, but at the same time this is not the way." But in a 1995 speech he praised suicide bombers. "Those who die on the part of justice are alive, and their place is with the Lord, and they receive the highest position, because this is the highest honor." Get this, Abdurahman Alamoudi, on the Fiqh Council NA' Leaders Council is in a Federal Big House for terrorist crimes.
Here's the kicker, and this is the reason everyone connected to this story and others like it should be in front of Congress defending its slant: a non partisan organization sponsored a forum on just how screwed up Islam is called 'The Radical-Islamist Threat to World Peace and National Security.' CBS radio refused to sell this group air time on its Infinity Radio Network; the official word from CBS being that, “Too many people might be emotionally affected by the subject matter…It’s too controversial to be aired at this time.” Are you fricking kidding me? CBS can refuse to fund a little group some air-time, which they could have made a few dollars from and try to get more people to watch its news, and instead roll the unsubstanitated, false, contrived, slanderous, treasonous Bush National Guard Memos story. Using CBS's own words..from the aftermath of the NatGuard-Gate Memos it's a fact that many people were emotionally affected by the subject matter and it was too controversial to be aired at the time (before a Presidential Election) DUH!
Congratulations CBS, you've done the terrorists another favor by giving them airtime directly from a page right out of the Al Queda Terror Training Primer. Idiots!

Since you seem to be ignoring your Kerry comments I'll pose the question here:
So are all these guys liars? You never addressed it.
From Kerry's executive officer James Kelly:
"There is no question that John Kerry earned his decorations and that he put his life at risk in the service of his country. There is no doubt in my mind, moreover, that he has the intelligence to serve as president. ..."
The Navy Inspector General:
"Our examination found that existing documentation regarding the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals indicates the awards approval process was properly followed. In particular, the senior officers who awarded the medals were properly delegated authority to do so. In addition, we found that they correctly followed the procedures in place at the time for approving these awards."
Elmo Zumwalt, Commander of the United States Naval Forces in Vietnam:
"It is a disgrace to the United States Navy that there's any inference that the [medal] process was anything other than totally honest." [Boston Herald, October 28, 1996]
From Soldiers that, unlike the swift boat veterans you love to quote, were there the day Kerry won his silver star.
"Kerry ordered our boat to head upstream with his, leaving Droz's boat at the first site. It happened again, another ambush. And again, Kerry ordered the turn maneuver, and again it worked. As we headed for the riverbank, I remember seeing a loaded B-40 launcher pointed at the boats. It wasn't fired as two men jumped up from their spider holes."
"With our troops involved in the sweep of the first ambush site, Richard Lamberson, a member of my crew, and I also went ashore to search the area. I was checking out the inside of the hooch when I heard gunfire nearby. Not long after that, Kerry returned, reporting that he had killed the man he chased behind the hooch. He also had picked up a loaded B-40 rocket launcher, which we took back to our base in An Thoi after the operation."
"John O'Neill, author of a highly critical account of Kerry's Vietnam service, describes the man Kerry chased as a 'teenager' in a 'loincloth.' I have no idea how old the gunner Kerry chased that day was, but both Leeds and I recall that he was a grown man, dressed in the kind of garb the VC usually wore. The man Kerry chased was not the 'lone' attacker at that site, as O'Neill suggests. There were others who fled. There was also firing from the tree line well behind the spider holes and at one point, from the opposite riverbank as well. It was not the work of just one attacker."

I agree that CBS is a mess and if the ad they wanted to air is the same as their :60 PSA then it sounds pretty harmless. Maybe they took the time to do a little research (apparently unlike you) and found that the leader of this group is absolutely NOT non-partisan like you claim. The site links almost exclusively to hardcore right wing 'news' outlets. In fact their director and founder is formerly the director of 'Vietname Vets For Truth' aka 'Wannabe Swiftboat Slanderers'. This is the same guy that tried to claim Kerry was a hero to Vietnamese Communists? So did you know this already or were you lying when you claimed they were a non-partisan group?
Unbelievable...so what if this group is right? Address the issue...CBS continues to gatekeep stories in the name of fairness and its absolutely sickening. CBS will run that Fatwa, not run a rebuttal and use an excuse that it might upset people when it knew damn good and well that the Bush Guard Memos were total crap. You want research, go be a librarian. As for your defense of this story that CBS ran, you just proved my point, aid and comfort to the enemy comes in many forms. And CBS just did its bit in the name of Islam. CBS is getting its, though. No one watches CBS anymore, so is this really an issue. Nope.
As for the Kerry stuff Braveheart Anonymous keeps bringing up: Let's just focus on one Purple Heart and one only, since you loonies can't focus on any other issue. The first PH was awarded stupidly by the military. Granted. Perhaps if it wasn’t, maybe JK would have stayed his whole tour. But the PH was petitioned for by a man who did not deserve to get it. No honorable combat soldier, airman, sailor would petition his command for an injury that required a band-aid to fix and expect a PH. The fact that it's Kerry we’re talking about is what drives you lefties nuts. If this was situation was about Dornan, McCain, North, anyone else, I'd say the same exact damn thing...there is no honor in requesting and receiving an award that was not won with honor. And if that person seeks to do it a second time, is this the kind of person who should be in any position of leadership in the military? The unequivocal answer is no, and HELL NO! A man that dishonorable has no business being the Commander-in-Chief. The fact that this is about a leftie like Kerry is what makes you guys crazy. Guess what? I don’t give a crap that it’s about Kerry. I really don’t. If this was about a Republican I'd say the same thing! At least I can admit that. And if I was pissed off enough, I’d make a bumper sticker about that moron, too. However, this has nicely played out that the person in question is one you lefties try to lionize. Oh well! No one deserves to be awarded that honor of a combat medal for injuries without being worthy to receive it and it's a disgrace to those with whom he has served that the award in question was granted and accepted...operative word…accepted Dishonor is dishonor no matter what party you belong to. This should end this debate once and for all. Thanks for all of your replies. You can now go back to defending CBS and its aid and comfort to AQ.

1) You are incorrect, I never defended CBS. I only pointed out that you were dishonest when you claimed the group was non partisan.
2) The Bush Guard Memos were not 'Total Crap' as you claim. In fact the secretary who would have written them said that while they could be forgeries they do accurately reflect her bosses sentiment at the time.
3) That was a very lovely (and long) speech you made there. If only it had even the slightest attachment to reality. First, you never answered the question, are those members of our military lying when they say Kerry earned those medals?
You say you would attack him the same whether he was a Republican or a Democrat. *cough*Bullshit*cough*
You are on a crusade against a decorated combat veteran because ACCORDING TO PEOPLE WHO WEREN'T EVEN THERE HE WASN'T INJURED BAD ENOUGH TO GET A PURPLE HEART. Yet you support a Republican who DODGED THE DRAFT, SHIRKED HIS DUTY TO HIS COUNTRY, Lied about his own service, SMEARED WAR VETERANS AS UNPATRIOTIC, AND SENT SOLDIERS TO WAR BASED ON LIES THEN CUT THEIR BENEFITS WHEN THEY RETURNED.
Sorry for the caps but your hypocrisy is so overwhelming I felt it was warranted.

BAND AID = PURPLE HEART! The issue is and always has been honor. W may not have it either. But there are tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of Vets who know more about honor than you and I do. They are not wrong. They are not wrong for saying, in fact screaming, that a band aid does not merit a Purple Heart? W did not serve in combat. And for the billionth time, W is not the issue. He never has been. W may not have it according to your standards and that of the NYTimes and your other links but the men who know what honor is know that you don't take what you did not earn. JK served his country. Granted. He went to war. He came back a decorated Veteran. No argument from me on any of those issues. In fact, I've stated that before on numerous ocassions that anyone who is in a combat zone deserves the respect of his country for having served. Granted. Now in the case of JK, there is an overwhelming vote of no confidence from Veterans who know how wrong it is to seek and accept an award for being wounded in combat when it's not deserved. The issue is honor. The Veterans of any war know what it is, what it's about, how it's cherished, and held to an ideal of veneration that few others on the planet will ever come to know. They can't be wrong. Over 3/4 of the fellas that served in, around, on, with, next, besides, after, typed after action reports, affdaivits, etc., to JK say it's just not right. And for them, these bumper stikcers are a way of honoring them, those that want their voices to be heard and never forgotten. That's it for me on this post. I will have a bit about Congress and its new approproiation for Vets, pretty big from what I've read, a bit about enlistment numbers being up, why Steven Bochco is lucky he wasn't collateral damage in Iraq, and my continuing fight against the media and its clear and present danger to the national security of this nation. Thanks to all who posted here. It's been fun! See you in the funny papers!
W is an issue because you try to claim that this has nothing to do with politics. Yet you are willing to spend countless time making and distributing stickers to defame a war veteran while cheerleading and I presume voting for a draft dodger. Your claim that you do this to 'honor' veterans is laughable. You don't make inflammatory, degrading stickers about a veteran to honor veterans.
I just picture some unfortunate soldier in Iraq right now who gets cut open by a piece of shrapnel like Kerry did. But instead of applying for the medal he deserves he decides its just not worth it because somewhere down the road someone he has never met may use it against him over political differences or some blogger who was never there and doesn't know anyone who was will start a blog and travel around to accuse him of being dishonorable.
With everything going on in this country I just can't for the life of me figure out why so many people spend so much time trying to tear down a vet over the severity of 1 of his 3 purple hearts. And don't say its to protect the honor of the troops. If you want to protect the honor of our soldiers spend those hours and go volunteer at one of the homeless shelters housing the thousands of homeless vets. Or maybe use it to support policies and politicians that actually SUPPORT the troops, instead of paying them lip service and then letting them fall by the wayside when they come back scarred both physically and mentally.
I'm sorry if this got more heated than it should have but in the wake of what is going on in OH-2 I'm really fed up with Republicans claiming to be the party of the troops and pointing the finger at Democrats while at the same time screwing these same troops whenever it suits them.

Whoa, whoa...calm down, big fella (or you could be a girl, who knows) Just giving the Vets what they want, Son. And by the hundreds of emails I've received, I can't print these things fast enough, especailly the ones that are unit specific. I am also getting a ton of requests for anything anti-democrat...Fonda, Pelosi, Boxer. Love it or hate it, they are going to sell. And if you go back to the original post, all profits after printing will go to Vet groups. If JK had his way, there would be no funding of any kind for weapons program or major funding for vets issues. The totality of his voting record in Congress speaks to that. If JK had his way, we would be fighting with sticks and stones. There wasn't a defense bill he met he did not like. It's a shame you can't figure out for the life of yourself why people detest this man. After all that we have said back and forth, the hundreds of Vets who have spoken and continue to speak, his voting record, trips to Viet Nam, his speech before Congress in the 1970s, throwing his medals on the steps of the White House...you still can't figure out why so many American have contempt for this man? JK is unique in how he has acted before during and since he went to VN. I hope to Christ there is not another JK that seeks the public trust and acts in the way and manner in which we have seen what JK is all about these thirty-something years. Beleive, me, Brother (or sister) there ain't ever gonna be another on like JK. His record, actions, words are all that anyone needs to see why he will never be CIC of this nation. I'm finished. You're right, there are other issues bigger than JK. Thank God!

If you actually believe this then there is no point in arguing. Although I suppose that should be apparent by now. As long as we are clear that your major issue is that Kerry wasn't wounded in combat severely enough for you in just 1 of his 3 purple hearts. I just hope hope you try to hold all politicians to such stringent standards.
There is still the notable abscence of any criticism of our current CIC and his lack of character or honor despite your claims to dish it out regardless of political party. Although I suppose that won't surprise anyone.
Best of luck with your 'smear campaign of veterans and women to honor veterans'.

Smear! Hell, all the Vets that have seen this absolutley love it. So, go after them if you dare. Watch your six! And I do believe it, sir or madame. Kerry voted against the B-2, Tomahawk and the Patriot, voted to freeze or reduce defense spending more than six times in ten years, and he proposed a 6.5 billion cut in intelligence and defense spending...some hawk! Look, I'm not going to rehash the whole campaign over again. There are people with more honor on the left you could defend. I support many Democrats that have more honor that never went to combat. (J. Lieberman comes to mind - he knows what this war on terror is all about and the Dems kicked him out of the race.)Pick someone other than, Kerry. He aint' the kind of person you should be pitching an all out tizzy over. He lost, lost big, lost and this country is much better off that he ain't calling the shots. Put up someone better next time like JL and we can have a civil discussion. PAX
Let me just say...I didn't read this article but I'm coming back to do so later. I just stopped by to thank you for the email, and to grab your address and add it to my blogroll. I will come back later tonight and read it in full. I did skim over it, and looking at the site it looks wonderful. I will proudly add it to my blogroll. Thanks so much for the email, Jay
O.K...back as promised. My thoughts? CBS just needs to shut down. All these leftist organizations like Air America, are corrupted. They'd not only give aid and comfort to the enemy, but if they can get away with it they will provide funds. As if propaganda isn't enough. Great post.
Hey, Jerk! Quit the CR@P!
Now that I have your attention. The more you dignify his commentary as worthwhile, he will continue to post it. This individual has an obviously biased opinion and is incapable of seeing the world ofr what it is, gray. Do you want to have a debate of issues or just spread propoganda to the idiots of the world?
Personally I disagree with both of you since neither of you is listening to me. Accept facts for what they are and stop trying to twist them to serve your agendas.
COME ON MORTY: MAKE UP YOUR MIND!
Fact Opinion from me:
JK: rec'd medals and ribbons - Definiately; war hero - perhapse not
W: Shirked his repsonsibility with Natguard - Certainly; Warrior - Perhapse; War monger - Definitely
JK: Inconsistent voting record - Definitely; Unpatriotic - Definitely Not; Sesitive to military issues - Perhapse Not
W: Articulate - Definitely Not; Inteligent - Perhapse; Entertaining - Definitely
So See, not everything is as clear cut as we would like. It is the failure to recognize this that permits MORONS to get into a land war in Asia or go in against a Scicilian where death is involved. Either show up as yourself of SHUT UP!
My 2 cents - Priceless...

I don't know who you are or who you are referring to. Was there something you posted before?
I'm kind of curious because you seem to reserve most of your vitriol for me(although I could be misreading it) and yet I've been agreeing with most of your conclusions save a few. Specifically:
1)In what way is W a 'Warrior'
2)How do you see JK as insensitive to military issues (I don't so much disagree as I am curious what this is based on.)
3)You don't address our hosts assertion that JK is so dishonorable that he should be precluded from being President but W is not.
3)Your spelling of perhaps.

Actually I like your method more and more. I hope you don't mind if I make my own version.

What is sad is that you like to point out that all of these great Democratic leaders who served are country. And grateful for their service we are. But isn't it strange that the military still leans atleast 75% towards the Republicans, despite the evil imperial invasion and war for oil the Chimpu Bushitler started?
And somewhere in the comments above was this gem concerning the Bush national guard memos:
The Bush Guard Memos were not 'Total Crap' as you claim. In fact the secretary who would have written them said that while they could be forgeries they do accurately reflect her bosses sentiment at the time
I love the liberal mindset. "We know it is true. We can't prove it, but we'll make up the evidence to support our view of the truth.. And I love that the secretary is talking now that her boss is conviently dead and there is no other evidence. Oh, and as a military pilot, no commander gives enough of a crap about a guy missing a flight physical to make a personal memo about it and then keep it for 30+ years. But keep grasping at straws you leftards. I enjoy watching you squirm over your hatred of Bush.

As opposed to ex-President Busy Pants firing Tomahawk missles at empty buildings during the height of the Monica Lewinski stuff.
I apologize for my insensitive remark about President Clinton. Certainly a person with such character should be shielded from such personal attacks. To all of my loyal readers, I am sorry for calling Ex-President Busy Pants, Ex-President Busy Pants!
Language...here's a big difference in the left and right...when we make fun of a President, it's funny. I joke. I have many posts that are funny. When I say something like Ex-Pres Busy Pants, that is funny! I make fun of W. I think the folks on SNL are hilarious. i don't get upset when they go after Cheney, W, others. Wil Farrel's W is hilarious. Anyway, I repsect the office. The person in it needs to earn it. Record to record, W may not be the brightest according to the left, but he ain't no busy pants or career philanderer as Ex-Pres Busy Pants. Laugh. That's funny!
Why is that you lefties have to post someone else words to support your view point? I could give a crap what Mother Jones, The Nation, NAMBLA, Time, Newsweek say about anything. Where is it wrtten that web logs have to have sources of news to support someone's opinion. The best blogs are the ones that don't use anyone elses words, left or right. What I think is stupid and even lazy are these blogs that post text from a story and inject some pithy comment of their own and think it's great. B-O-R-I-N-G! My posts and my comments are MY THOUGHTS. I don't agree with everything on the right or left. In fact, I'm pretty pissed about the way this administration is running the WOT, Defense, Immigration, Taxes, Bolton (does anyone else think he looks like the Uncle in your family no one talks about?) All that said, I'd still trust any conservative with my wallet and my military than any lefite, and I don't need a link to a shitty article to back up what I think. JC - get a life!
Don't read the articles, only listen to Rush. Close your eyes really tight and you will never know how wrong you are.
Listen, up you left wing maggot. I’m only going to say this once so even your stupid ass will understand it. I served in Korea and VN. And I can tell you from experience that anyone who tried to get a medal he did not deserve was usually met with hostility in his unit, even to the point of having an accident in the field. Did you understand that last part? I’m talking about a code. Something you REMF (that’s Rear Echelon Mother Fuckers) would never understand. And guess what, sweetie, John Kerry broke that code. He broke that code the day he put in for his first, second and third Purple Hearts. He broke that code when he testified in front of Congress that raping and killing was SOP. He broke the code when he went to get chummy with the NVA on their own soil. So numbnuts, the bottom line is you have no idea what you’re fucking talking about. What’s the most honorable thing you’ve ever done in your life? Can you answer that, hippie? And since you never served you don’t know shit about honor and have no right to question our right as Vets to say Kerry is the lowest of the low. He’s a traitor and so are all of his Hollywood buddies. John Kerry is a disgrace to himself, his unit, the Navy, and the United States of America. Now, can you just knock this shit off? The Democrats lost in 2004 and John Kerry IS the reason that happened. It wasn’t the Swift Boat Vets or the vast right-wing conspiracy. Kerry imploded on himself. If the Democrats were really serious about winning, then the other Kerry from Nebraska should have run, the Kerry who owns the CMH. Do you know what that is, little lady? I’d go toe to toe with Comrade Kerry and show him my SF180-DD-214. The two Purple Hearts I got and the injuries I never put in for were more serious that what happened to him. My record is original, never doctored and there are no pages missing. It’s a damn good thing Kerry is not Commander In Chief, but if he was, I would not throw my medals back on the steps of our Capitol. I’m going to buy as many of the bumper stickers as I can and pass them around to Vets who know what the hell they are talking about. Great Post and Great Blog. Thanks for thinking of the Vets.
could whomever posted last please repost. I accidentially deleted the comment thinking it was mine. Sorry!
