PA Gets $50m from US, Then Calls for Terror Against US Soldiers

I can't believe we all missed this one...The Palestinian Authority continues to openly promote vicious anti-American hatred right after signing a deal to receive $50 million in direct aid from the US. According Palestinian Media Watch:

The Bush administration broke a long-standing taboo last month when the president announced $50 million in direct aid to the Palestinian Authority, meant to help the Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, prepare for Israel's scheduled withdrawal of settlers next month from Gaza. In February, the State Department announced a new package of $350 million in American aid to Palestinian nongovernmental organizations.

Palestinian Media Watch's director, Itamar Marcus says, "Governmental and non-governmental organizations in the Palestinian Authority continue to receive hundreds of millions of dollars from the U.S. Agency for International Development, some of which is going directly to frameworks that sponsor branches of Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations."

A spokeswoman for USAID, Heather Layman, said in an e-mail response for comment, "USAID provides 'in-kind' assistance to some Palestinian Authority agencies - for example, technical assistance, training, office equipment, medical supplies, and the construction of infrastructure facilities, such as water wells, pipelines, and schools. All of this in-kind assistance is targeted to specific development objectives, and is carefully monitored to ensure that no assistance is diverted to other uses."

Why in Christ's name are we giving money to the PA? And who is monitoring that this money is going to be spent in good faith for phones and desks? This is an awful lot of moeny for GD office supplies! What happens when we find out that this money has gone to Rockets, C-4, and AK-47s? Are we going to ask for the money back? This is worse than Oil for Food!

At the same time we give these murderes money, this is what the PA is broadcasting. Are you ready? Sermon by Yusuf Abu Sneina, Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque

"Anyone who watches closely the nature of our world today, can see that the heretical countries - first and foremost, the USA - have succeeded greatly in tearing our Islamic world apart by disintegrating and splitting up more than one Islamic state, intending to weaken it, disperse [its citizens] and plunder its resources. It is terrorism, and there's no choice but to fight it."

"As regards Iraq, there is much to say about it. The USA has composed a draft of the Iraqi Constitution in a way that it will serve US interests and enhance the disintegration of Iraq's unity. The new constitution includes federal solutions, which are dividing Iraq into small countries."

"A federal government hides behind it; the seeds of a future civil war… The USA is planning to rule Saudi Arabia and disintegrate it, too, despite the close friendly relations between the two countries... "Is the USA going to fulfill its ambitions and aggressive plans? And, for how long shall the submission and surrender to the plans of the enemies of the [Islamic] nation?"

In a recent July 8th broadcast, Abbas-controlled PA TV calls to "annihilate the infidels [common reference to US and Western countries]… God, count them and kill them to the last one, and don't leave even one."

I swear to God this Administration never ceases to amaze me.

Comments:
The unfortunate thing about this world, and this is evidenced by Bush's plan for pre-emption, is that world only works reactively and only when every other possible solution has been exhausted. In this case, yes, we have to aid the PA, even when the dwell in insanity, because when we don't then the world says we don't care about Arabs. So we give them money, they buy missiles and then we blow them up. Sad but that's life.

thanks for the recents posts on my blog.

How about no money to terrorist orgs? And if we want to help, they can buy all the office supplies they need, then they can send us a bill. Thanks for the comment.

Well, the ifrst thing was to not give Gaza away. Next, Condi and Company need to get this done. Done is not the right word, but we need to lead the way in helping this siutation. The EU ain't gonna do it and neither will anyone else.

Are you also in support of not sending money to Israel?

As to the sermon you quoted, did the Imam say anything that was not factually correct?

Maybe it's time to back off and let Israel have their way with them. Repeat the six day war and give this collective group of terrorists what they have been asking for......life with Allah and the 72 virgins! Great post. Well said!

Are you also in support of not sending money to Israel? NOPE - MONEY GOES TO ISRAEL AND NOT THE PA UNTIL THERE ARE NO MORE EXPLODIG CHILDREN. NO MONEY FROM THE UN OR ANY OTHTER GROUP

As to the sermon you quoted, did the Imam say anything that was not factually correct? YOU'RE NOT SERIOUS? I HOPE YOU WERE NEVER IN THE MILITARY!

Well bicekl691 - I wish Israel would let loose the dogs of war and allow the IDF to end this, reoccupy GAZA, Golan Heights, and all land between Israel north to Turkey (except Jordan) and South to Egypt!

RE: the quotes from the sermon:

Am I wrong in thinking that:
1. the US HAS succeeded in "disintegrating and splitting up more than one Islamic state"
2. we DID push an Iraqi constitution that will "serve US interests" and,
3. well, maybe the US won't try to rule Saudi Arabia outright, but don't we want leaders there who will cooperate with us?

I'm repeating this without a moral evaluation of any of it, just taking it at face value: Are the words of the sermon not generally correct?

So, yes, I'm serious and I don't see whether I was or wasn't in the military having a thing to do with it. Why do you ask?

And you're okay with Israel's killing of Palestinians but not the other way around?

Sounds a bit like moral ambiguity to me.

When you conside what was replaced in IRAQ as illegitimate to begin with, no. There is no solvency in a regieme like Pre-US-Iraq. Have you read the constitution proposal? It's pretty good and it mirrors all constitutions of the west - so why not have the Imam go after all Western Nations. No, the words of the cleric are not correct. The absolute is that the West is absoltuely right in ridding the world of SH and eveyone like him. We are doing it one nation and one despot at a time. So far, we are doing a pretty good job.

The fact that you asked the question about Israel makes me want to delete this reposne and your comment. The mypoia to see any similarities between exploding PLO targeting civilians and the IDF is not worthy of comment. If that is what you beleive to generate discussion on a blog, fine. the debate is welcomed. If you actually believe this, you need help!

Some of us are opposed to deadly violence - especially that which harms innocents - whoever the source. It is, in my mind, a case of having moral and logical consistency.

If you're saying that:
IF the cause is just
THEN it is okay to sometimes kill innocent bystanders

Then that is a logical statement that does not bear up under its own weight. That is, you actually DON'T believe that statement. What you probably believe is:

IF the cause is just
AND IF the perpetrators are us or one of our allies,
THEN it is okay to sometimes kill innocent bystanders

But that is not a consistent ethic.

Put another way: What are the criteria under which you believe it is okay for the Palestinians to use violence?

Answer that question in a way that is consistent and we might have the beginnings of a logical debate.

For the record, I am opposed to the violence that the palestinians are using, but I am also opposed to Israeli violence. I call that, consistency, not moral equivelancy.

Thanks Dan. Your position is well taken. You did not have to respond to my rant, but you did. I still think it is wrong to deal with the PLO on any level of equality. Here's why. They do not have nor do they believe in the rule of law. The PLO does not operate as body that represents a common cause, purpose, and legitimate claim to authority. And this is in stark contrast to its enemy Israel. Let me put it this way for the space of this reponse box, if the PLO NEVER fired another shot, neither would the Israeli's. I firmly believe that and i hope you would too. No one wnats violence, ever, esp soldiers. The last thing a soldier wants to do is fight, its just that's what he has been trained to do. The PLO attacks and attacks without reason or cause. I really appreciate your response. You did not have to come back to this blog and you did not have to restate yor position. I'm glad you did and I hope you return. PAX
