VINDICATION OF THE VIETNAM VETERAN

Come see this post. The article was written by a conservative blogger.

Please pass this to all you know who proudly served in Viet Nam. As I posted in the comment section of that blog, I hope and pray that this nation honors and venerates those who serve today in the GWOT, unlike what many in this nation did to the veterans who served with honor and distinction in Viet Nam. When thirty years pass after the liberation of Iraq and Afghanistan, the only thing that should be said of anyone who served in the GWOT is that they did their duty, they served with honor, and many paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can continue to be free.

Man, the Clintoon joke was classic. Glad to see you stop by once in a while. I missed your wit.

"When thirty years pass after the liberation of Iraq and Afghanistan, the only thing that should be said of anyone who served in the GWOT is that they did their duty, they served with honor, and many paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can continue to be free."

I say that now, and I say it everyday, and will until the day I die.I work and live right near Miramar and Pendelton. I run into Marines and Airforce everyday, have friends that are stationed there, or work there.

A few months back, I was in a deli ordering lunch and two Marines were right behind me. I smiled at them, and they looked relieved. The bee-yotch behind them was staring at them giving them the evil eye.

I got to the register, paid for my lunch, and said I wanted to pay for the soldiers lunch too. They smiled, thanked me,(I told them,"NO!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!") and they were so surprised. It broke my heart.

The "lady" behind them was sneering, mumbling about "killers" I turned to her and asked if she wanted to say something....she shook her head, but I saw a dose of shame there, good. I felt I'd won. I felt good. And I just hope those young men felt a little better that day.

Sounds wierd, but when I see a soldier, I feel this joy in my heart, that this person loves this country, and all of us so much(even those evil liberals),that they are willing to make that ultimate sacrifice.I hope that they at least know there are some people here that know it, and love them for it.

Sorry for the sappy-ness of this. It's an emotional topic for me.

Not sappy at all. I appreciate the words. Pass this post to all.

A great read.
